The Mary L. Stone Black College Tour is a dynamic experience for high school juniors and sophomores. The program exposes students to public, private, large and small colleges in rural and urban settings. Beginning with the application process, the tour staff has developed a program that familiarizes students and families with the challenges of pursuing higher education.
Applicants are expected to be enrolled in their junior or sophomore year of high school. Applicants may be enrolled in public, private, charter or parochial school.

The Mary L. Stone Black College Tour has provided more than 2,600 students with a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

While most participants live in southwestern Pennsylvania, some have come from as far as Minnesota and California to take the tour. Participants from more than 40 area public, parochial, private and charter high schools have enrolled in and graduated from a wide range of colleges, including Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). As well, a number of students and parents have returned to volunteer in various capacities.
