Spicy Spinsters

FROM THE PUBLISHER

Happily-ever-after doesn't always include Prince Charming. Spicy Spinsters: Stories of Seasoned Bachelorettes is a collection of short stories about women who have never had husbands. They are very different from the timid image of the cartoon character in the Old Maid card game. Approaching ages 40, 50 and 60, the bachelorettes in this book are vital, attractive and interesting. From the atypical virgin, to the high-priced call girl, the women in Spicy Spinsters: Stories of Seasoned Bachelorettes represent unmarried feminists who helped shape today's society as well as individuals continuing to adjust to independence thrust upon them.Spicy spinsters emerge from various economic and ethnic backgrounds. Having gender, age and marital status in common, they show everyone how marriage isn't the only door to happiness. Embracing spinsterhood, the women in Spicy Spinsters: Stories of Seasoned Bachelorettes are like the treasured spices symbolizing them at the beginning of each tale.

Transforms Old Maid Myth. This book is a must have for all us single seasoned women who are no longer in our twenties, but are just as young at heart. These characters prove we are smart, sexy, secure, etc. even without a ring on our finger. Definitely dispels the old maid myth. I've bought this book for my bacherlorette girlfriends for Christmas.

Can you decide? Which Spice are you?

I enjoyed this book so much that I finished the book in 1 sitting. I found a little of myself in many of the characters. I laughed and cried and experienced every emotion in between. I now introduce myself to new friends as a 'spicy spinster'. my biggest problem is that I can't decide which spice I will be today!

Praise for Spicy Spinsters: Stories of Seasoned Bachelorette.

Dear Ms. Hopson, First and foremost, I would like to tell you how very much I've enjoyed working on your book. I wasn't sure what to expect when I first got it, but having read through it I was very impressed, not only by the stories you've compiled but by your writing style in general and the different voices you've given your characters. It is a rare author who can imbue the characters of their separate stories with such disparate personalities, and you've done a wonderful job! Publish America Editor.
