PoeticWorks was originally established in 2004. It was designed to introduce underground poets to mainstream America. Over 400 poets were apart of the community and with assistance from PoeticWorks Publishing Company, 45 poets were published in 2 Anthologies between 2005 and 2006.
EMichele Paul (pictured), the founder of PoeticWorks, also hosted several shows in and around San Diego, California and produced San Diego's first Battle of the Poets in 2005. From that show, 2 of this country's finest Spoken Word Artists were crowned "Top Notch Poet".
PoeticWorks is constantly finding ways to re-invent itself to give poets the best outlet for their work. We are determined to provide a quality site to match the work of the Artists that become apart of our community.
The Future of PoeticWorks
In 2009 we will take our company on the road. We will be traveling to Open Mics, coffee houses, Slams, etc across America looking for the best Spoken Word Artists in America. Once we find them, we will take them on what we are currently calling a "Poets on Tour" show. It will be a 45 days strut across America, stopping in 15 cities to perform at various shows making them known in areas they would have never dreamed of performing in!
As we continue to grow our community we will also increase our vision so stick around and see what's in store for us all!

We now have 24 hour entertainment which consists of a playlist of spoken word that you can listen to for hours. Once you're done listening, you can move on to our video clips of some of the hottest Spoken Word artists to grace the mic. Want a change from poetry? Well how about watching a slideshow of Graffiti from artists across the US with hip hop tracks playing in the background? Ready for a laugh? We have video clips of some of the best comedians in the US. And that's just on the front page.
