2011 BLACK HISTORY MONTH EXHIBIT:
THE STRENGTH OF STEEL: A TRIBUTE TO AFRICAN AMERICAN STEELWORKERS IN PITTSBURGH
Long ago, generations of African Americans helped Pittsburgh secure its title as the Steel City. Celebrate their triumphs by visiting The Strength of Steel: A Tribute to African American Steelworks In Pittsburgh, a free exhibit presented by Citiparks.
 
In honor of Black History Month, the display features artifacts on loan from Rivers of Steel National Heritage Area, photographs, and memorabilia of black Pittsburgh steelworkers who advocated civil rights. Other presentations include Tony Buba's 1996 documentary Struggles in Steel: A Story of African-American Steelworkers. Pay tribute to the men who shaped Pittsburgh's history by visiting the Pittsburgh City-Counting Building on Friday, February 18.
